School's out, but we're still serving up nutritious summer meals

The Summer Food Service Program ensures that children continue to receive nutritious meals when school is not in session.

Through the USDA’s Summer Food Service Program, Fort Worth community centers provide free summer meals to children who might otherwise go hungry.

Any child 18 or under may go to a community center for Grab and Go meals. Worth Heights Community Center is offering its meal service at Southside until that center reopens. Find a community center near you.

No income requirements or registrations are necessary for a child to receive meals.

Meal service beginning Monday, June 29 is available 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Parents should park in front of the center and phone the center. The lunch meal will be brought out to the vehicle. Children receiving meals must all be in the vehicle when the food is delivered.

Grab and Go service will continue through Aug. 7.
