$5.4 million available for homeless services and prevention

Nonprofit organizations serving homeless and at-risk populations are invited to submit proposals for the City of Fort Worth’s second allocation of HUD CARES Act grant funding to respond to effects of COVID-19.

Up to $5,463,533 may be awarded to eligible homeless service providers that have the capacity to administer federal grant funds.

Eligible activities are listed in priority order:

  • Rapid ReHousing.
  • Outreach to Unsheltered Homeless Persons.
  • Emergency Shelter Essential Services and Operations.
  • Homelessness Prevention.
  • Emergency Shelter Renovation/Rehabilitation.

Requests for applications must be received by July 17 and applications must be submitted to the Neighborhood Services Department by July 31.

Grant recipients will be selected based on experience serving homeless and at-risk populations, administering federal grant funds and consistency with priorities of the Tarrant County Homeless Coalition. Funding recommendations will be developed by the Community Development Council with the Fort Worth City Council making final determinations on awards.
