Deadlines approach to give input on $12.7 million spending plan

The Neighborhood Services Department wants your input on Housing and Urban Development (HUD) grant funding for 2020-2021. Email comments must be received no later than 5 p.m. July 31.

Fort Worth City Council will conduct a public hearing during its regular 7 p.m. meeting Aug. 4.

Funds benefit low- to moderate income residents of Fort Worth. Qualified projects could include health and safety repairs to homes, accessibility improvements for disabled persons, employment training, homebuyer education, meals and transportation for seniors, and services to help reduce homelessness, among others. Submit email comments by 5 p.m. July 31 to Senior Planner Sharon Burkley.

Comment in person or by phone at 7 p.m. Aug. 4 in the City Council Chamber on the second floor of City Hall, 200 Texas St. Residents who attend the meeting in person must wear a face covering and practice social distancing. To allow for social distancing, seating in the Council Chamber is extremely limited.

Because of the limited seating, residents are encouraged to watch the meeting live on Fort Worth TV, either online, on TV or on Facebook. They can also watch the meeting via the Fort Worth City Hall Youtube channel or the Fort Worth TV video library after the meeting is complete.

The Annual Action Plan is scheduled to be adopted by City Council Aug. 4 and submitted to HUD no later than Aug. 15.
