At Camp Connection, youth will find adult assistance while completing their online school assignments.

Fort Worth’s Camp Connection is a new option for working parents, providing a safe place for students ages 5-13 to attend while allowing parents to continue working or return to work.

Sessions will operate 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday. Extended care outside of these times will not be available. Camp fee will be $30 per week with scholarships available. Campers can register beginning Aug. 10.

All Fort Worth community centers will host camp, with the exception of MLK Community Center, which is hosting Freedom School, and Sycamore Community Center, which will host only Session 2.

Two sessions are planned:
Camp Connection Session 1, Aug. 17-28. Due to the delay in school starting, Fort Worth community centers will provide a two-week extension of summer camp service. Breakfast, lunch and a snack will be provided.
Camp Connection Session 2: Sept. 8-Oct. 2. Camp Connection will provide supportive learning opportunities for children in nearby communities at community centers. Camps will be staffed with recreation professionals to provide a learning partnership through homework assistance. Camp Connection will offer adult supervision for youth while completing their online school assignments. Breakfast, lunch and a snack will be provided. Additionally, the program will provide:

  • Access to digital technology.
  • Enrichment and recreational activities.
  • Creative social outlets.

Community volunteers and contract instructors are needed to assist with Session 2, which focuses on supportive learning for youth. To learn more, contact Sheri Endsley.

COVID-19 modifications in place

Modifications have been completed to make sure facilities are as safe as possible. Examples of these modifications include installing Plexiglas dividers, moving furniture to ensure physical distancing and securing adequate supplies of disinfectant and personal protective equipment.

Parents will not be permitted to enter the facility, and campers will undergo health and temperature screenings outside before entering the facility.

Each camper will have their own bag of supplies. Social distancing will be enforced, with no sharing of materials. There will be an increased focus on personal hygiene, respiratory etiquette and hand washing.
