If your home was built before 1978, it could have lead. The Lead-Safe Program helps eligible residents protect children from lead hazards when they live or spend extended periods of time in homes with deteriorated lead-based paint.

Program services are free to owners and renters and can include:

  • Inspection and risk assessment.
  • Painting interior/exterior surfaces.
  • Replacing doors, windows or siding.
  • Other urgent health and safety repairs.

An updated application process allows residents to apply online, and new COVID-19 safety procedures help protect residents, city employees and contractors.

Learn more and find out if you and your home qualify for the Neighborhood Services Department’s Lead-Safe Program. For questions, contact Neighborhood Services by email or at 817-392-7444.
