Virtual public hearing with in-person option to discuss I-30 from Linkcrest Drive to I-820

Posted Sept. 4, 2020

TxDOT proposes to improve I-30 from Linkcrest Drive to I-820 in Tarrant County. A virtual public hearing will be posted on the TxDOT website at 6 p.m. Sept. 22 and will be available through Oct. 7.

The proposed improvements include widening the existing travel lanes to provide three travel lanes in each direction (plus auxiliary lanes) and continuous one-way frontage roads with pedestrian and bicycle shared-use paths for approximately 3.3 miles.

The I-30 interchanges at RM 2871 and Spur 580 would be reconstructed. U-turns would be provided at Linkcrest Drive and Chapel Creek Boulevard. Alemeda Street, the I-820 frontage roads between Westpoint Boulevard and North Normandale Street and the direct connector from southbound I-820 to westbound I-30 would be reconstructed.

Approximately 3.5 acres of additional right of way is required. No residential or nonresidential structures are anticipated to be displaced at this time.

TxDOT is providing an in-person option for individuals who would like to participate in-person instead of online. In-person attendees will be able to view the same presentation delivered in the online public hearing, review hard copies of project materials, ask questions of TxDOT staff and consultants from a socially-distanced approach and leave written comments. The in-person option will be held 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sept. 22 at the TxDOT Fort Worth District Office, RTC Training Room, 2501 S.W. Loop 820. Attendance at the in-person option will be by appointment only. Call 817-370-6603 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday to make an appointment.

In recognition of COVID-19, enhanced safety measures will be applied at the in-person option, including a requirement to wear a face mask, submit to a temperature check before entry, have an appointment and follow social distancing practices.
