Commercial Accessory Building Permit

Commercial accessory building permits, like their residential equivalent, are required for items like storage buildings, detached garages, gazebos, patio covers, decks and carports.

Energy Code Compliance documents are required for any conditioned or lighted space.

What is needed

  • Complete set of plans including site plan in PDF format with a file size no larger than 512 MB.
  • Scanned copy of the property’s certified plat in PDF Format
  • Energy Code Compliance documents in PDF format.
  • (For projects over $50,000) TDLR elimination of architectural barriers registration number.

For those who wish to use the paper review process instead of electronic review, bring the following: two complete sets of plans (including site plans), one 11-by-17 inch copy of the floor plan, 10 full-size site plans, one utility site plan, one 11-by-17 inch site plan, two full-size certified copies of the property’s legally recorded plat, two copies of energy code compliance documents, and one zoning use verification form.
