Chisholm Trail Community Park

This project implements Phase 1 of the Chisholm Trail Community Park master plan. Park amenities to be constructed include two competitive soccer fields, a playground, an eight-foot-wide concrete walking trail, two pavilions, an in-ground, concrete skate park, a pier platform at the pond, two drinking fountains, road and parking infrastructure, and security lighting in the parking lots. Como Neighborhood Center

A master plan will be developed for Eastgate Park. Amenities may include a playground, trails, shelter, benches, picnic tables and drinking fountain. Eugene McCray Community Center Expansion

Lake Worth Trails

Phase 1 of this project includes construction of an/off street hike and bike trail system. This trail system will start at Trinity Trails network near Anahauc Street and continue through the YMCA Camp Carter, Marion Sansom Park and along Lake Worth through Windswept Circle Park, Plover Circle Park and end at Arrow "S" Park. Nature Center Boardwalk Development

The existing boardwalk will be redeveloped. A new shelter with access from the existing parking area is included as part of the construction. Council District: District 7. Learn more »

Nature Center Levee

The improvements to the existing levee will enhance the condition of the embankment, provide pedestrian and light duty access to Todd Island, which is a 1,000+ area of Nature Center land, and maintain the wetland habitat upstream. In addition to the $350,000 2014 bond funds allocated for this project, a donation of $50,000 from Friends of the Fort Worth Nature Center & Refuge and a $25,000 grant from Wells Fargo / Fish & Wildlife will be used to fund this project. Transportation Connections for Pedestrians and Bicycles to the Trinity River Trails

This project has five-locations and will be constructed in two phases. Phase 1 will add bicycle and pedestrian connections along Oakland Boulevard from Randol Mill Road to Rosedale Street, Westcreek Drive from I-20 to Kellis Park and at the River Park Trailhead. The connections include paved trails, sidewalks with ADA ramps at intersections, on-street bike lanes with striping and signage, and expanded parking facilities. (Construction to start October 2015.) Phase 2 connection locations are from Quanah Parker Park to Handley-Ederville Road and on to Richland Hills TRE train station, and from the Forest Park Trinity River Trails to the Mistletoe Heights neighborhood via a pedestrian bridge. Connections at these two locations include paved trails, pedestrian bridges, a low-water crossing, retaining walls and on=street bike lanes with striping and signage.
