Congratulations to the following forerunners in water efficiency. These first year recipients made some significant strides in reducing their water consumption for this year and going forward.
Amon Carter Museum of American Art
Total Annual Projected Savings: More than 1 million gallons of water
By optimizing cooling tower operations and upgrading 90 percent of existing shrub beds to sub-surface irrigation, Amon Carter significantly reduced their water consumption.
Lockheed Martin Aeronautics
Annual Projected Savings: Over 21 million gallons of water
Lockheed reduced their water use by installing a pH control system for two cooling towers and optimizing tower operation. Additionally, they retrofitted over 1,100 faucet aerators facility-wide.
Performing Arts Fort Worth, Inc. AKA Bass Hall
Annual Projected Savings: 881,600 gallons of water
Retrofitting 75 percent of toilet fixtures and all faucet aerators, along with optimizing cooling tower operation, yielded impressive water use reductions.
