NELAC Accreditation (2006)
The Fort Worth Water Department's fully-integrated environmental laboratory was the first municipality to be granted full accreditation by the National Environmental Laboratory Association Conference (NELAC) for drinking water in Texas.  The Lab was the third in Texas to be granted full accreditation.

This accreditation acknowledges the Lab has reached a significant level of professional recognition, demonstating an understanding and commitment to quality techniques and practices.

NELAC (under the auspices of the Environmental Protection Agency) devised this program to establish uniform standards of high credibility, traceability, and acceptability of data.
