Swimming Pools
If you own a pool, you may have heard that the Water Department will fill your pool. Yes, it's true, this is a service we offer to customers. The cost is $50 an hour plus the cost of water used. This service is performed after regular business hours and must be scheduled in advance. To set up your appointment, call our 24-hour Customer Service at  817-FW-24-HRS (817-392-4477).  

If you decide to fill up your pool by yoursef keep in mind that this will not affect your wastewater charges as the months of December, January and February are used to determine your winter quarter average for sewer volume charges.

Aquariums
Home aquarists typically use tap water supplied through their local water supply network to fill their tanks. Straight tap water cannot be used in countries that pipe chlorinated water. In the past, it was possible to "condition" the water by simply letting the water stand for a day or two, which allows the chlorine time to dissipate. However, chloramines are now used more often and do not leave the water as readily. Additives formulated to remove chlorine or chloramines are often all that is needed to make the water ready for aquarium use.
