As an irrigation professional, we want to empower you to effectively conduct business in the City of Fort Worth. Our specific guidelines and requirements can be accessed below, along with our Irrigation Ordinance, and other related information.
These standards were associated with House Bill 1656, which placed mandates on cities over 20,000 in population. The bill requires irrigation system installers to be licensed under the Occupations Code and that the installer obtain a permit from the city before installing an irrigation system in the city or its extraterritorial jurisdiction. It also requires cities to regulate the design, installation, and operation of irrigation systems in accordance with Section 1903.053 of the Occupations Code and any rules adopted by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ). The TCEQ adopted rules under H.B. 1656 in June 2008 to be effective January 1, 2009.
