On September 28, 2010, the Fort Worth City Council adopted the following water rates which took effect January 1, 2011. The water portion of the bill consists of two charges: a monthly service charge and a volume charge. The monthly customer service charge is based on the size of the water meter serving the customer. The volume charge is based on actual water usage, measured in cubic feet (cf). (1 cf = 7.481 gallons; 1 ccf = 100 cubic feet = 748.1 gallons). Volume rates vary by customer class.
New water and wastewater rates were also reviewed and analyzed by the Retail Rate Structure Advisory Committee to ensure each class of customers pays fair and equitable rates.
