Lake Worth Fish Advisory

The Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) issued a new fish advisory against consuming certain species of fish from Lake Worth.

The advisory was issued on Monday, November 15, 2010, after laboratory testing showed elevated levels of polychlorinated byphenyls, or PCBs, along with the insecticides aldrin and dieldrin in fish sampes collected from the lake. This advisory replaces a 2000 advisory that warned against consuming all species of fish from Lake Worth due to elevated levels of PCBs.

This advisory will remain in effect until rescinded or modified in writing.
