As the City of Fort Worth grows, more and more residents report sightings of a variety of wild animals in and near their neighborhoods — everything from coyotes to bobcats to feral hogs and even alligators. Citizens are advised to keep a safe distance from any strange animal and call Animal Care and Control at 817-392-1234 to report any contact.

Small Domestic Pets

Animal Care & Control- Handles issues involving small domestic pets (dogs, cats, pocket pets) small nuisance wildlife (raccoons, opossums, skunks, squirrels, snakes), cruelty issues involving all types of animals, and animal bites involving all animals. Large Animals and Fowl

Dead Animals

Solid Waste- Handles the pickup and removal of small dead animals on City streets or on private property after it has been placed on the curb in a plastic bag. To Report Call: 817-392-1234 or visit use the online form.

Loose Livestock

Tarrant County Sheriff’s Department- Handles issues concerning loose livestock (horses, cattle, goats, pigs, etc.) within the city limits of Fort Worth. To Report Call: 817-884-1212 or visit the Tarrant County website.
