On September 28, 2010, the Fort Worth City Council adopted the following water rates which take effect January 1, 2011. Wastewater rates are comprised of two primary components: a monthly customer service charge and a volume charge. The monthly customer service charge is based on the water meter size. The volume charge rates vary by customer class. For residential customers, the volume is based on average monthly use in the winter months. For most commercial and industrial customers, the volume is based on the actual water usage that billing period. A few large commercial and industrial customers do have waterwater meters that measure the flow.
New water and wastewater rates were also reviewed and analyzed by the Retail Rate Structure Advisory Committee to ensure each class of customers pays fair and equitable rates.
