The High ImpACT Pilot program is a 17-month (May 1, 2024 - September 30, 2025) pilot that aims to tackle the intersection of mental health and homelessness by combining high-level, mobile psychiatric services through the creation of a Housing First Assertive Community Treatment Team (ACT Team) with housing assistance.
The program is managed by My Health My Resources of Tarrant County (MHMR).
Street outreach teams, neighborhood police officers, and the City’s Homeless Outreach Program & Enforcement (HOPE) team referred individuals who have either been reported in that area for a long time (more than two years) or are suspected of having severe mental illness. These individuals are referred for housing assistance and services, with the level of services offered depending on the individual's needs. The pilot program offers low barrier housing and voluntary case management to referred individuals.
Those who need a more intensive approach transition to the care of the ACT Team. The ACT Team works with those with severe mental illness who are on the street and also those who are in housing but need more intensive services to stay housed.
