Fort Worth Animal Care & Control celebrated the season with a heartwarming adoption event, “Home for the PAW-lidays,” at City Hall, successfully finding loving homes for five adorable pets.

Why it matters: This event not only spread festive cheer but also provided a second chance for shelter animals to find loving families, aligning with Fort Worth's commitment to animal welfare.

  • Community engagement was high, with city employees and animal lovers uniting for a common cause.

  • Fort Worth Mayor Mattie Parker and Councilwoman Macy Hill were among the guests, showing their support.

What they're saying: "It's an absolutely wonderful idea to help clear the shelters and bring some pets to city hall," shared Kelly Strange. Jennifer Ezernack added, "Not only is this for a good cause, but for those who cannot adopt, it’s a great stress reliever. We look for it every time on the City Roundup news releases."

Event highlights: The atmosphere was warm and inviting, allowing attendees to interact with adoptable pets.

  • Adoption fees were waived, and adopters received gift bags with essential pet supplies.

  • Excitingly, four puppies and one kitten found their forever homes just in time for the holidays.

The bottom line: If you couldn't adopt but want to support, consider donating to help shelter pets. Every act of kindness makes a difference in bringing joy to these animals as they await new families.

Thank you for being part of this special event. Fort Worth Animal Care & Control will continue hosting monthly adoption events at City Hall, offering more opportunities to meet and adopt pets in need.
