Thank you for your interest in becoming a Rescue Transfer Partner with Fort Worth Animal Care & Control!

FWACC is the City of Fort Worth’s only municipal open-admission animal shelter, with more than 18,000 pets that pass through our doors annually. We have two shelter locations that house over 800 animals each and are almost always operating at capacity.

Our Rescue Partner Transfer Program allows us to transfer animals to partnering organizations that are able to care for and place animals who we may not have the allocated resources or space to care for.

What are the minimum requirements to be a Rescue Transfer Partner?
  • Receiving agency must be a 501(c)(3) or a municipal agency dealing with animal control for a minimum of six months.
  • Receiving agency is looking to find permanent placement for the animals that the City of Fort Worth is transferring to the receiving agency.
  • Receiving agency must have a veterinarian they use for treatments of their animals.
  • Receiving agency must maintain their facilities and ensure the homes of their fosters are clean and sanitary.
