The Historic Southside and Evans & Rosedale Urban Village is a vibrant district located less than five minutes from Downtown Fort Worth, and 10 minutes away from most attractions in Fort Worth. A former hub of Black commerce, the Historic Southside has housed many of the Fort Worth's (and even the nation's) first black entrepreneurs and is an extremely important part of the city's history.
The City of Fort Worth has invested over $30 million into the area's infrastructure, redevelopment, and planning efforts since the late 1990s.
In August 2024, the City of Fort Worth announced that Royal Capital would become the master developer for the Evans & Rosedale redevelopment project. The Milwaukee-based company was ultimately chosen out of eleven proposals that were reviewed by a selection committee composed of city staff and representatives from the Historic Southside Neighborhood Association.
The Royal Capital team and the City of Fort Worth are hosting a fun, family-friendly event to give the community an opportunity to provide feedback on plans for the Evans & Rosedale development, and learn more about how to stay involved as the project moves forward. 4:30-6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 23 Ella Mae Shamblee Library, 1062 Evans Ave.

Community meetings are shown with the most recent meeting listed first. Representatives from the City of Fort Worth also meet monthly with the Historic Southside Neighborhood Association or its economic development task force.
The City of Fort Worth launched an RFEI on March 5, 2024, to find a new master developer for the Evans & Rosedale urban village in the Historic Southside, a former hub of Black commerce that has been home to many renowned Black entrepreneurs and prominent Fort Worthians both past and present.
