From the basics of backyard composting to the science behind it, the Master Composter Class empowers participants to teach others about composting.
Fort Worth Master Composter certification requires 20 hours of volunteer time and 20 hours of training hours. There is no time limit on completing the required hours.
“Learning Hours” can be earned through attending compost-related tours, workshops/conferences and reading informational materials.
“Teaching hours” can be earned through staffing an information table at public events, teaching others about composting, giving presentations to groups and volunteering at the Botanic Garden's Compost Outpost.
All hours must be documented by the participant and submitted to the Botanic Garden's education and volunteer coordinator. Watch the calendar on this page for volunteer and training opportunities to fulfill your certification requirements.
