To obtain an alcohol permit in the City of Fort Worth complete the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission Application, and take it to a notary before signing. 

If the application is denied for distance or zoning issues, there will be paperwork attached explaining the denial and what recourse is available, including zoning changes or distance variances. 

 

 

Step 1

Take the completed Alcohol Permit Location Verification form to the permitting desk

 

In person, please bring the Alcohol Distance Check Application(PDF, 88KB) to the city's zoning counter, to receive zoning approval.

  • Applicants should fill out this file with the property's legal description (lot, block and addition).
Note :  Applications will not be processed without this information.

Step 2

Apply for a Distant Check permit

  • Cost for the permit is $50.

  • Payments accepted:

    • credit card

    • check made out to the City of Fort Worth

    • cash

  • These documents will be given to the chief building inspector to complete a distance check inspection.

  • The applicant will be notified when the inspection is completed.

Step 3

Step 1.Pick up the forms at the permitting center

Pay processing and other fees that may be required for the specific permit type at the central cashier.

Step 2.Establish your CFW Alcohol Account

  • Present a complete Alcohol Permit application
  • Application should include zoning payment receipt or zoning invoice for payment processing
  • Complete the Billing Acknowledgement Form

Step 3.Take the documents to the City Secretary's Office

Step 4.Verify the "wet/dry" status

Signature for the form will complete this process.

 

The City of Fort Worth levies and collects a fee not to exceed one-half of the State Fees paid to TABC for permits issued. Please refer to the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission Guide for Tax Assessor-Collectors(PDF, 522KB) for a list of State Fees Paid to TABC.
