Tweens and teens in grades 4-8 are invited to take their brick builds to the next level with LEGO® Education SPIKE™ Prime kits! Team up to design and code a bot and put it to the test! The Young Women’s Leadership Academy’s Dork Side robotics team will be on-site to mentor and provide tips and strategy.
Monthly challenges are slated this fall at three locations, with new challenges each month. Bot Builders is funded by community donations to the Fort Worth Public Library Foundation.
As a destination for exploration and discovery, your library designed this program for youth looking to try something new with robotic kits in a team setting.
Coached by engineering teacher Sergio Flores, The Dork Side comprises students from the all-girls Young Women’s Leadership Academy in Fort Worth ISD. The team designs, builds and codes robots for First Tech Challenge competitions. Learn more:
