Many Americans have a family legend including an “Indian Great-Grandmother" or a “Portuguese Grandfather” in the family tree.

The Melungeon Historical Association documents and preserves mixed ancestry peoples’ history. Tri-racial isolate groups including European, African and Native American ancestors flourished in Hancock County, Tennessee and Appalachia. Strategies for finding ancestors will be discussed including tracing back to known family patriarchs.

As a destination for discovery, your Fort Worth Public Library empowers lifelong learning.  We designed this program for adults.
