Make your own floating lantern to celebrate the Thai festival of Loy Krathong!
As part of the cultural fiber of Fort Worth, your library creates spaces and opportunities for conversations and exploration. We created this cultural program specifically for children and their caregivers.
A krathong is traditionally a small container crafted of a slice of banana tree trunk or a spider lily plant that are floated onto water with a lighted candle. The krathong floating away has often been meant to symbolize letting go all of one's hatred anger, transgressions and negative thoughts.
