Bringing the music to the people!

Fort Worth is the birthplace of Western Swing music, so it shouldn’t be a surprise that the sounds of the city continue to reverberate in new and exciting ways. The Library manages Amplify817.org, a commercial-free music streaming platform that exclusively features Fort Worth musicians.

Responding to our community's needs

From our conversational English as a Second Language classes to our High School Equivalency test-preparation courses, the Fort Worth Public Library strives to offer relevant programs for Fort Worth’s Spanish-speaking community. For families, regular Spanish or bilingual story times are fun events that encourage children to read. Our Kindergarten Prep, offered in Spanish, helps prepare parents for their child’s first day of school.
