Your Fort Worth Public Library is here to provide resources for you, your classrooms and your students. 

Every student in Texas and every teacher serving Fort Worth-based students can get a free Fort Worth Public Library card, and so much more!  We're building a community of learners, dreamers and doers together.

This card helps teachers enhance their classroom with a steady supply of books and materials in a wide range of subjects and reading levels.  

If an independent school district has a school inside the Fort Worth city border, the entire staff of that district is eligible for Educator Cards. Library staff will be able to assist in determining eligibility and explaining expiration dates. 

With this card, educators may:

  • Check out up to 100 items at a time for up to 42 days.
  • That includes books, DVDs, Blu-Rays, CDs and magazines.
  • They may reserve up to 25 items and there are no fines on overdue materials.
  • Individual cardholders are responsible for paying to replace lost or damaged items.

Texas students get a free Fort Worth Public Library card no matter where they live. 

Guide your students on which card to apply for:

Fort Worth residents may apply online or in person, and school enrollment verification is not required for residents. Students living outside of Fort Worth should apply with their parents in-person at any of our locations. Please note that non-resident students must verify enrollment in school which can include any of the following: 

  • Current Student ID
  • Report card or progress report dated within the last six months
  • Current school-enrollment paperwork
  • Current school-issued class schedule
  • Letter from a teacher, principal or school librarian on school letterhead

3D Printing

Each cart has a 3D printer that is free to use on a first-come-first-served basis during regular hours.  Ask our friendly staff to show you how to use the printer, design an item or find something online.  We offer 3D printing basics classes at different locations throughout the year. Search "3D Printing" in the Fun Finder.
