The City of Fort Worth has received $5.7 million from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) as part of a $420 million nationwide initiative to eliminate lead-based hazards in homes. The grant will help protect children and families from the dangers of lead exposure, with a focus on low-income households. Funds will be used to address and mitigate lead hazards and reduce lead exposure and make homes safer to live in, especially homes with children under 6.
