About Community Action Partners
The City of Fort Worth’s Community Action Partners (CAP) program serves as the Community Action Agency for Tarrant County and provides comprehensive services to economically disadvantaged individuals, families and older adults. CAP receives Community Services Block Grant (CSBG) funds and Comprehensive Energy Assistance Program (CEAP) funds and is a division of the Fort Worth Neighborhood Services Department.
CAP Applications Closed for 2024
Fort Worth Neighborhood Services Community Action Partners has received an unprecedented number of applications for energy, rental, and mortgage assistance this year, with 11,000 applications since January, nearly double the usual 6,000. We do prioritize vulnerable populations like the elderly, disabled, or those with young children living in the home under the age of 5. Due to the high demand, the CAP program has closed applications for the rest of 2024 to avoid giving false hope to applicants.

Eligibility
- Must live in Tarrant County.
- Income is an eligibility factor for all assistance.
- Must be the account holder or authorized user on account if requesting utility assistance.
- Must be the primary lease or mortgage holder if requesting rental or mortgage assistance.
- Proof of Income required for ALL household members over 18.

Your Community Action Agency for Tarrant County
CAP serves as your Tarrant County Community Action Agency (CAA). Community Action Agencies are local organizations that provide a wide range of services to support low-income individuals and families.
