In 2009, the City Council approved the dedication of 20.80 acres of parkland and facility improvements from Sheffield, LP, The Heritage Place Joint Venture, and Hillwood Alliance Residential, LP, costing $168,000. Barksdale park takes its name from the adjacent street and has approximately 3/4 mile of trail.
