Fun facts

Following the creation of Lake Worth, the City of Fort Worth leased land around the lake to individuals and commercial ventures alike. Casino Beach was once the location of an amusement park that included a roller coaster, boardwalk, and ballroom, among other facilities. In 1937, Civilian Conservation Corps Company 1816 built a shelter, comfort station, and picnic tables there. The picnic tables were demolished in 1990. The shelter was converted for the use of the lake patrol. Although Casino Beach is part of city-owned property around the lake, it wasn’t officially designated as a park until November 1970. The park contains 44 acres and includes a playground.

Casino Beach Park is the location of one of 21 official canoe launch sites for the Trinity River Paddling Trail which is a 130 mile stretch of the Trinity River between Fort Worth and Dallas.  The Trinity River Paddling Trail was designated a National Recreation Trail by the National Parks Service in November 2020. See all launch sites in the link on the sidebar.
