On Dec. 19, 2006, the City Council approved the purchase of two foreclosed parcels in the Falcon Ridge neighborhood in west Fort Worth and dedicated the property as parkland. The Parks & Community Services Department allocated $173,020.34 from Parkland Dedication Fees for the development of Falcon Ridge Park. Because the foreclosed properties were purchased at a discounted rate, an additional $44,526.03 was available for park development for a total of $217,546.37 available for development. After meeting with the Falcon Ridge Legacy Neighborhood group to get input on the type of amenities that were desired, the Park Department put the project out for bids in August 2010. The project included demolition of the existing drive approach, installation of new curb and gutter, site grading and installation of a concrete trail system, a playground, and eight benches. The project was implemented in 2011. The park has 6.47 acres.
