Fun facts & History

Marine Creek Linear North was acquired in 1996 and contains a 7.83 acres. Together with Rodeo Park, Lincoln Park, Marine Creek Linear Park, and Buck Sansom Park, it creates the Marine Creek Park Corridor which stretches nearly from North Main Street westward along Northwest 28th Street and along Marine Creek Parkway. In 2010, the Parks & Recreation Department applied for a $1,000,000 matching grant from Texas Parks and Wildlife Department Grants Branch to implement improvements to the parks along this corridor.  In 2011, Halff Associates was awarded a contract for design and engineering work for the project. Implementation began in 2013. Work in this park included the construction of bridges and trails. The park also contains a playground.
