Fun facts and History

Post Oak Village Park was acquired in 1981 and functioned as a reserved park. It contains six acres. In 2004, it was learned Post Oak East Development intended to develop multi-family housing adjacent to the park. This triggered 2000 City Park Dedication Policy generating a Neighborhood Park fee in the amount of $155,639.88. Fifty percent credit fee was applied to private open space improvements within the development as allowed by the Park Dedication Policy. The remaining 50 percent was applied to improvements in Post Oak Village Park. These funds plus 2004 Capital Improvement Program funds resulted in site clearing, earthwork, shelter and furnishings, and playground construction, among other improvements.
