Ridglea Hills Park, comprising 6.1 acres, was acquired in 1960. The park board approved its name on April 19, 1961. Located next to an elementary school and adjacent to a popular post-war neighborhood in west Fort Worth, both with the same name, the acquisition of this park continued the practice of locating playgrounds and small parks adjacent to schools.[1]
