An unnamed stream is the eastern border of the park. The stream flows southeast to converge with Big Fossil Creek.
The 4.5-acre park received a pavilion and picnic tables, a baseball backstop, and a trail. A special playground was developed for children between the ages of two and five.
Located in the Summerfields Addition of north Fort Worth, Summerfields Chisholm Park became a public park in 1995. It was not developed until 2005 with funding from the city’s 2004 bond package. The new park was developed with input from area residents and met a need in this rapidly developing section of the city.
The park is comprised of Early Cretaceous mudstone and claystone from the of Pawpaw, Weno Limestone, and Denton Clay formations.
The Sanger-Purves-Slidell soils, which contain clayey upland soils, overlies the area’s geology, and includes all of the Big Fossil Creek watershed.
The stream adjacent to the park offers ecological interest, especially during the rainy season.
