Fun facts

Westhaven Park was acquired by the City of Fort Worth in 2020 in accordance with its Neighborhood and Community Park Dedication Policy and the Park, Recreation and Open Space Master Plan. Its 4.67 acres was the former site of Van Zandt YMCA Southwest which was built in 1973. The site was selected due to its proximity to multiple neighborhood subdivisions. Since becoming a City park, the buildings on the site were demolished but the basketball and tennis courts were retained. Funding from the 2022 Bond Program will assist with the development of the park through master planning and the design and construction of amenities. It takes its name from the adjacent street.[1]
