For the first time ever, you can enjoy the Immersive Prairie Dog Experience! The City of Fort Worth Park & Recreation has created the experience with seven foot tall prairie dog animatronics. Eat, sleep, play and enjoy the life of a prairie dog, alongside animatronic creatures six feet under the prairie. Staff have been tirelessly digging the burrows to offer an authentic experience for our community.

Did you know there is a park NAMED Prairie Dog Park? In 1969, the Fort Worth City Council approved the acquisition of a 39.5-acre tract in the southeast section of the city. Park officials were eager to acquire the land because of its unique residents—prairie dogs. Unfortunately, there are no longer prairie dogs in the park today.
