City Manager

David Cooke became Fort Worth’s city manager on June 30, 2014. He is responsible for implementing the Mayor and City Council’s policies and managing the $3.3 billion city government enterprise with 8,100 employees.

Deputy City Manager

Mark McDaniel serves as the Deputy City Manager for the City of Fort Worth. His portfolio includes Communications & Public Engagement, Information Technology Solutions, The FWLab, Intergovernmental Relations, the City Manager’s Office and the Good Natured Greenspace Initiative.

City Attorney

The City Attorney’s Office provides transactional and advisory services as general counsel, and provides litigation services to the twelfth largest city in the nation, handling the bulk of lawsuits in-house.

The City Secretary's Office provides citizens with information on formal actions of the City Council; meeting dates, times, and places; election data; ordinances, contracts, deeds, and other official city documents.

Assistant City Managers

An assistant city manager focuses primarily on organizational issues so that the city manager can focus more on external issues. In small cities, the assistant city manager is the second-highest-ranking employee in the organization.

The FWLab

The FWLab is responsibilities have included fiscal management, strategic planning, capital and facilities planning, creation and reporting of key performance indicators and performance metrics, and operational program management.

City Auditor’s Office works to keep Fort Worth government effective, efficient, and accountable through independent assessment of operations and business practices. Compliance information is provided through Annual Audit Plans, Audit Reports, Peer Review, and the Audit Committee.
