View a Memorial Day skydiving exhibition honoring health care workers, first responders on the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic and the nation’s military heroes who have given the ultimate sacrifice.

The landing will be at noon May 25 at Panther Island Pavilion, 395 Purcey St. Another exhibition is scheduled for Globe Life Park in Arlington at 4 p.m.

Mike Elliott, president of the All Veteran Group and a retired U.S. Army Golden Knight, will perform a skydiving demonstration with his team. The public is invited to view with safe social distancing practices at the jump site.

Aircraft will use colored smoke to draw a two-mile-wide heart in the sky over the cities. Elliott and his team will skydive from 10,000 feet with thank-you banners, military banners and a 1,000-square-foot American flag in tow.

“The City of Fort Worth is honored to be a part of this spectacular tribute,” said Mayor Betsy Price. “Fort Worth has always had a deep appreciation for our military and their families, and we especially are honored to recognize our fallen military heroes on this Memorial Day. We also sincerely appreciate all of our health care workers and first responders who have been on the front lines combatting COVID-19 to keep our residents safe and healthy.”

Operation Airdrop is a combined effort among the Airpower Foundation, All Veteran Group, Fort Worth Oral Surgery, Baylor, Texas Health, JPS, Tarrant Regional Water District, Bell Fort Worth Alliance Airshow, Alliance Aviation Service, Vintage Flying Museum, Texas Rangers, the City of Fort Worth and the City of Arlington.
