Virtual, in-person meetings to discuss 1187 improvements

Published on October 18, 2022

TxDOT is proposing to improve FM 1187 from I-35W to Newt Patterson Road. The proposed project would:

  • Reconstruct and widen FM 1187 from a two-lane rural to a four- or six-lane urban divided roadway to improve safety and mobility.
  • Analyze improvements to existing and proposed cross-street intersections, drainage, bicycle and pedestrian accommodations, and the overall safety features of the roadways.

The proposed project would, subject to final design considerations, require additional right of way and potentially displace residences and nonresidential structures

A virtual public meeting will be posted beginning at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 25, and will remain online through Wednesday, Nov. 9. Please note, this is not a live event. The materials can be viewed at your convenience.

Additionally, TxDOT is providing an in-person meeting for individuals who would like to participate in person instead of online. In-person attendees will be able to review the same materials and presentation as the online public meeting. The in-person meeting will be held from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 25, at The Oaks at Drury Cross, 6765 Rendon Bloodworth Road.

Comments must be postmarked by Wednesday, Nov. 9, to: TxDOT Fort Worth District Office, 2501 S.W. Loop 820, Fort Worth, TX 76133.
