Fort Worth Housing Solutions, in partnership with the City of Fort Worth, will host a virtual public meeting on Wednesday, Aug. 31, to review proposed historic preservation ideas for Butler Place, a former public housing community on the eastern edge of downtown.
The virtual meeting will be conducted via Zoom from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday.
Built in 1939, Butler Place is now vacant after all its residents relocated to new apartment homes around the city through HUD’s Rental Assistance Demonstration program.
Fort Worth Housing Solutions has sought the community's input and established a Butler Advisory Committee to make recommendations about the site's redevelopment. Historic preservation of the site is one aspect to be considered.
