City Council preview for Aug. 23

The Fort Worth City Council will meet at 10 a.m. Aug. 23 in the Council Chamber on the second floor of City Hall, 200 Texas St.

  • The Council will vote on a resolution recommending a property tax rate of $.7125 per $100 in valuation. In a separate item, members will vote on a resolution disapproving the 2023 budget of the Denton Central Appraisal District.
  • Members will consider a resolution authorizing a design concept for the Council Chamber Building at Future City Hall.
  • Members are scheduled to vote on updated service and assessment plans for several Public Improvement Districts.
  • Members will vote on an artwork commission contract with Karla Garcia up to $118,100 for artwork at Trail Drivers Park, 2502 Guenther Ave. in District 2.
  • The Council will vote on a contract with Cole Construction Inc. for $707,253 for replacing playgrounds at Oakhurst, Worth Heights and Harrold parks.
  • Members will vote on a $250,000 Lake Worth Boat Storage Facility.
  • The Council will vote on Energy Weatherization Assistance Program Funds, which helps low- and moderate-income residents make home modifications to reduce energy costs.
  • Members will vote on design and renovation of Meadowbrook Golf Course.
  •  A vote could lead to a partnership with Fort Worth ISD, Keller ISD, Northwest ISD and Lena Pope Fort Worth to operate the School Resource Office Program.
  • Members will vote on approving ceremonial travel for District 3 Councilmember Michael Crain to France, Sept. 16-23, as part of the Fort Worth Sister Cities delegation.
  • The Council will present proclamations for Colonial Kids for a Cause and the Tunnels to Towers Foundation.

  • Local Development Corp., beginning immediately after the conclusion of the City Council meeting, Room 2020 at City Hall.
  • Fort Worth Housing Finance Corp., beginning immediately following the conclusion of the Local Development Corp. meeting, Room 2020 at City Hall.
  • Crime Control and Prevention District board, 4 p.m. in Room 2020 at City Hall. Board members will consider the FY2023 recommended CCPD budget in the amount of $117,387,173.
