Low-cost training provides coaching to CCPD grant applicants

The Fort Worth Police Department has partnered with The Grantsmanship Center to offer energetic, highly experiential training to Fort Worth agencies interested in applying for CCPD community-based grants.

Who should attend this training? Ask yourself these questions:

• Does your agency serve the Fort Worth area?
• Does your agency impact crime and safety?
• Have you or do you intend to apply to the City of Fort Worth for a Crime Control and Prevention District Community-Based Program grant?

Agency representatives who answered yes to these questions should apply.

The cost of this training is only $20. All applicants must complete registration to secure a seat. Training is limited to two participants per agency, and class size is limited to 24 participants per training session.

Created specifically for virtual delivery, the training combines online presentations, discussions and exercises with offline reading and practical applications. Online sessions are limited to two hours with a break at the mid-point. Participants get the convenience of virtual learning plus the delight of personal interaction.

Classes are scheduled Sept. 14-15, Sept. 28-29, Oct. 11-12 and Oct. 25-26. Class time is 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Register online. During the two-day training, students will learn how to:

• Identify and assess community needs.
• Document needs using relevant data.
• Specify realistic, measurable changes that will result from the proposed program.
• Connect the dots between the problem and the expected change.
• Articulate an approach capable of producing the desired change.
• Develop evaluation methods to assess achievement.
