City Council preview for Sept. 27

The Fort Worth City Council will meet at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 27, in the Council Chamber on the second floor of City Hall, 200 Texas St.

  • The Council will vote on approving the fiscal year 2023 budget; an ordinance amending the City Code, adding and changing certain fees; an ordinance appropriating funding for the operating budget; an ordinance for the levy and collection of taxes; and a resolution ratifying the property tax revenue increase.   • Members will consider a lawsuit against Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton over the release of confidential information contained in employee files after a public information request.
  • Members will vote on spending $219,942 with Kimley-Horn and Associates for a mobility study in the Fort Worth Stockyards.
  • The Council will vote on amending public participation rules related to time allotted per speaker and when speakers are recognized to address the Council.
  • Members will vote on extending a declaration of local disaster through Oct. 25 in response to heavy rains and flooding in August.
  • A vote would provide support to a working group to enhance maternal, infant and child health outcomes.
  • The Council will consider allocating American Rescue Plan Act funds for a slate of eligible projects.
  • If approved, a contract with Tarrant Area Food Bank for up to $3.2 million will help acquire property at 205 N. Vacek St. to expand food distribution capacity.
  • A Council contract with United Way of Tarrant County would implement the One Second Collaborative to address youth gun violence.
  • The Council will present proclamations honoring the 90th anniversary of the Epsilon Alpha Chapter and the Tunnels to Towers Foundation.
