Existing water and sewer mains will be replaced in an area that is bound by West Seminary Drive to the north, Merida Avenue to the east, Sadler Avenue to the south, and Rector Avenue to the west.

 

Cast iron water mains will be replaced in:

  • Cockrell Avenue
  • Yates Street
  • Cordone Street
  • Creston Avenue
  • Lubbock Avenue
  • Merida Avenue
  • West Fuller Avenue
  • West Boyce Avenue
  • Morrell Street

 

To address frequent main breaks, Fort Worth Water management has committed to replacing a minimum of 20 miles of cast iron pipe every year. Currently, there are 55 miles of cast iron mains at various stages of design for replacement in fiscal year 2024 and beyond.

 

Water and Sewer Main Replacements

  • Cockrell Avenue from Sadler Avenue to Binyon Street
  • Lubbock Avenue from Yates Street to Creston Avenue
  • West Fuller Avenue from Rector Avenue to Cockrell Avenue

 

Water Main Replacements

  • Yates Street from Cockrell Avenue to Lubbock Avenue
  • Cordone Street from Cockrell Avenue to Lubbock Avenue
  • Creston Avenue from Cockrell Avenue to Lubbock Avenue
  • Merida Avenue from Martin Lydon Avenue to Bilglade Road
  • West Boyce Avenue from Cockrell Avenue then to the east 1,200 feet
  • Morrell Street from Cockrell Avenue to the cul-de-sac

 

Sewer Main Replacement

  • Alley east of Lubbock Avenue from 175 feet east of the Yates Street/Lubbock Avenue intersection, then north 900 feet
  • Alley between Lubbock Avenue and Merida Avenue from West Gambrell Street then north 490 feet

 

This Fort Worth Water capital improvement project is in Fort Worth Council District 9. Construction will impact customers in the South Hills neighborhood association area.
