This large City project is comprehensive and involves major improvements along Trinity Boulevard.

Phase 1 - from Loop 820 to Salado Trail.

This section of roadway will be reconstructed as a four-lane, divided concrete arterial. This project includes a landscaped median, multi-use trails on each side of the roadway and drainage system improvements.

A roundabout will be constructed at the entrance to the Trinity Lakes Development and a traffic signal will be reconstructed at the Salado Trail intersection. After project completion, Trinity Boulevard will no longer be in a floodplain.

Phase 2 - from Salado Trail to Thames Trail.

A four-lane, divided concrete arterial is planned for this section of Trinity Boulevard. A landscaped median, multi-use trails on each side of the road, drainage improvements and water and sewer lines will be constructed. 

 

This project is in Council District 5.

 

November 2024 Project Update 

Phase 1: 

  • Paving southern side street intersections Salado Trail, Old Squall, and Riverlakes.
  • Traffic to use the new Trinity Lakes intersection when the Riverlakes intersection is closed. Expect Riverlakes Intersection to be close through early November.
  • The contractor will be finishing the roundabout construction in October and November.  Expect traffic to shift as necessary to build the remaining portions of the intersection.
  • The contractor will construct the remaining sidewalk, illumination, traffic signal, and irrigation in December.  Landscaping will be planted at the end of construction.

Phase 2:

  • The Contractor has begun waterline construction.  Traffic will be moved to the northern two lanes, and traffic control will match with Phase 1.  Waterline construction to last through March 2025.  Sequin Trail intersection will be closed after traffic to the Salado Trail intersection is open again.  
  • Road construction will begin after the completion of the waterline.
