This electrical improvements project includes the replacement and upgrade of electrical equipment and infrastructure within three return sludge pump stations, a service water pump station, storm drain pump station and chlorine area.

The Village Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant was built in the 1950s as a 5-million gallon per day plant. It expanded, over the years, to a 166 million gallon per day plant. Electrical equipment was installed with those expansions but some equipment is close to 40 years old.

The Village Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant is located in Council District 5 but it serves all council districts across the city of Fort Worth.
