The February 2021 ice storm caused power failures at the Westside Water Treatment Plant and the Eagle Mountain Water Treatment Plant and also impacted the North Holly and South Holly Water Treatment plants. Some high service pump stations also had power and freezing issues.
Senate Bill 3 requires that the City of Fort Worth submit an emergency preparedness plan to the state of Texas by March 1, 2022.
This project includes creating an enclosure –pre-fabricated metal buildings – for one pump at the Westside Water Treatment Plant and three high service pump stations and associated piping at the Eagle Mountain Water Treatment Plant (two pumps).
The Westside Water Treatment Plant is located in Fort Worth Council District 3 and impacts the Old Weatherford Road neighborhood association.
