I-35W Construction Closures and Detours
Construction on I-35W from I-30 to US 287 is in full swing. Capacity improvements span 18 miles and include a section of highway that is ranked as the state's eighth most congested roadway. Know the closures and detours before you get in the car.
McKenzie Street to be closed four months for construction activity (Active through Jan. 31, 2017)
McKenzie Street from Burchill Road to Avenue L will be closed from Oct. 10, 2016 through Jan. 31, 2017 so crews can installed culverts underneath the street. These improvements are designed to address flooding in the area.
North Fort Worth Water Supply Main Phase 2 (Active through April 15, 2017)
Southbound traffic on Old Decatur Road from North Saginaw Boulevard to Bailey Boswell Road is closed to vehicular traffic until mid-April 2017 so crews can install a water transmission line. Northbound traffic is not affected. Motorist should follow detour signs or seek alternate routes.
Norwood Drive (Active through Nov. 2, 2016)
Intersection improvements continue. However, contractor issues have delayed completion of the project. Construction is now expected to be complete by the end of 2016.
Precinct Line Road from Concho Trail to Randol Mill Road (Active through Nov. 2, 2016)
This segment of roadway will be repaved with asphalt surface and cement subgrade after the other projects at the north and south ends of Precinct Line Road are complete. No curb, gutter or sidewalk improvements will be made. Project completion is scheduled for August 2018.
Randol Mill Road from Stoneview Circle to Precinct Line Road (Active through Nov. 2, 2016)
Consultants are working on the design of the roadway. Storm drain issues have delayed the design process so construction will be pushed to May 2017.
Trinity Boulevard (Active through Nov. 2, 2016)
Loop 820 to Salado Trail: Construction plans have been reviewed by city staff and returned to the consultant for revisions. This means construction is expected to begin January 2017. Salado Trail to Thames Trail: The project consultant continues working on construction plans for this phase of the project. Staff anticipates these plans will arrive for review September 2016. The construction schedule has not been set for this project.
Trinity Boulevard Bridge & Drainage Improvements (Active through Nov. 2, 2016)
Two portions of work remain for the Trinity Boulevard Bridge project. The concrete flat work including the median east of the bridge is scheduled to be completed in September, restoring the four-lane traffic condition. The channel lining is scheduled to be complete by the end of the year.
